Since I just came back from Budapest and remembered that Fine Cut Bodies played at Medusa Stage as well, it was about time to check their music out. First of all I found out, it´s not their, because it´s only one him. He is a producer, 33 years old, living in Budapest and releasing music since 1998. His style ranges from glitch hop and dubstep to techhouse and he remixed artists such as Erik Sumo, Anima Sound System (great sound system from Budapest) and Fever Ray. Worth a listen, pass by his soundcloud.

Furthermore Fine Cut Bodies runs a label called Chi Recordings (Chi Recordings soundcloud) with superb interesting releases and a hell lot of Erik Sumo Remix packs. There are a few free downloads here and there, too.

And, last but not least, Fine Cut Bodies also has a weekly radioshow at the national Hungarian radio station MR2, called Kvark Depo. Listen to it on podomatic.

Dolby Anol is back with a new EP on Tigerbeat and enters the global direction now. Seems like the guys have been off to a trip into the far East. They mixed hindu voice bits and pieces with club beats and made it a Hare Krishna meets rave culture kind of thing. Not bad, especially since I´ve seen Hare Krishnas raving to hardcore and stage diving (yes, that was for real). So why not fuse bollywood with rave. Melodies make music better anyways.

Great short documentary about the Bounce scene in New Orleans, with a statement from Rusty Lazer and an interview with Big Freedia, the gay bounce legend. I saw a few shows of the “New Orleans Airlift” in Berlin last year at the Berlin Lacht Theater Festival in Xberg at Mariannenplatz and at White Trash, which was pretty amazing. Mariannenplatz was more of a performance, White Trash a concert with those old long-not-heard-New-Orleans- tunes. Great Vibe, lots of tattoos. Unfortunately I missed Rusty, Big Freedia and MC Subzero as Omar Souleyman was in town and due for an interview as well.
