Fool’s Gold
August 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment
This is not the label, no. Although the name of the band Fool’s Gold certainly help’s to get them more attention, as I only found them because I thought this had something to do with Fool’s Gold. However, Fool’s Gold – the band – is from L.A. and makes tropical soul island sounds which go right into your soul (or at least mine). Their self-titled album is due to September 29th and makes you feel very sunny, wherever you are.

Calippo (Ice) for hot summer nights

Another Cumbia / Tropical Mix, this time from DeVille. Tropical bass invasion with a full explanation on the tracklist.
DeVille – Calippo Mix (Direct link)
Instituto Mexicano Del Sonido – Cumbia (Tom Tom Club Remix) w/ Bun B – Pop it 4 Pimp Acapella
Old school legends Tom Tom club make New York electro cumbia monster, couldn’t resist a bit of Bun B over the top, saw him live this year, legend.
Coki & Benga – Night (Sonido Del Principe RMX)
Benga and Coki chopped and screwed by one of Europe’s finest Cumbia producers. Woozy, chugging, great.
Amadou & Mariam – Sabali (Dakunt & Stinj RMX)
This called itself a Kuduro remix but really wasnt, it is a really nice edit of one of my favourite tracks off the LP though.
Basement Jaxx – Raindrops (Joker & Ginz RMX)
The Joker and Ginz EP on Kapsize was one of my records of the year, so when I saw this I was excited. Big squelchy rainbow bass for the sunshine.
Pacheko & Pocz – Zarbak
An exclusive from Venezuela, international funky business with an old school Warp acid vibe

Miscelanea

Miscelanea: a bit from eveything, a mix, una mezcla.
Miscelanea Barcelona: An alternative art shop, bar, gallery and small performance / concert venue in Barcelona, which is hosting an exposition with street art paintings from different artists from Sao Paolo this month. And as diverse and multi-ethnical as Sao Paolo is, so are the works of the artists (this case also applies for Barcelona).
Have a look at Tatiana Guid, Paulo Ito, Jey and Vermelho from 8th to 24th of July. Inauguration Wednesday 8th at 20h.
Furthermore there is a SPOTIFY Battle – you know this new music website – with MENEO vs Dudua and Tiendaderecha, only with music from the playlists online, which you find at that moment! That sounds like big fun, I would love to be there!
SPOTIFY starts at 21h.
MISCELANEA: C/ Guardia 10. RAVAL. BCN.

Bone of my Bones
July 3, 2009 · Leave a Comment
More Fire! More Grrlz Fire! Ebony Bones has been touring and invading the world with screaming colors and screaming fusionist voices and punk attitude for more than two years now. Without any release she’s been playing at every major festival all over the place and is about to release her first full length album “Bone of my Bones” only this month. The EP “The Muzik” is out since May (shame on me that I didn’t get that earlier) – coming with the song in four different versions; the original and three remixes from The Krays – Brodinksi & Yuksek, Bmore monster Aaron Lacrate and a Sunday Best Remix.
“Bone of my Bones” will have the hits “We know all about you” (Check Sample-Salat 2), “I’m ur future Ex-wife”, “Warrior” and “In G.O.D we trust”.
BTW, since we are in the era of booty music, ebony bones website is originally a booty site with some other background. You find Ebony Bones at www.missebonybones.com.
